Drinking a lot of water is key to losing weight and feeling great! Water is the basic building block that all life depends on. Every cell in our body needs hydration to function. Proper water intake contributes directly to the following:

Our bodies rely on adequate water consumption to provide basic body functions. The stomach needs water to efficiently break down the food we eat. As the broken down food progresses to the intestines and colon, water is necessary for efficient processing & elimination. Dehydration is a contributor to constipation for many people. People who focus on drinking lots of water also exhibit increased stamina. Water aids the muscles in their function. Water even helps to lubricate the lungs so they can perform at their maximum. All of these factors will allow you to go that extra mile and push harder in the gym while aiding in recovery.
Accomplishing proper hydration requires a little preparation. My general goal is to have clean water near me at all times. Generally, it is recommended that we consume 64 ounces of water daily. A simple way to keep hydrated is to carry water with you in a bottle. This can be a repurposed 32 ounce glass bottle, that you bought juice or tea in last week. I often take these, peel off the label and sanitize them in the dishwasher. Another good option is a stainless steel bottle, these are strong & can be sanitized. I recommend getting a good one, cheap bottles often don’t hold up to the daily abuse they are subject to. Lately I’ve been using a heavy glass bottle in a silicon sleeve & really like it! These are a little more expensive but mine has held up for a long time.
