Losing fat around your waist is one of the hardest things for an adult to do. As you become older, the fat becomes more difficult to lose. The human body is comprised of fat, lean tissue, bones and water. Once a person hits the age of 30, they tend to lose their lean tissue while simultaneously gain in fat. In fact, a person in their mid-fifties will have 33 percent more fat in their body then when they were 30 years younger. Unfortunately, the majority of that fat rests in the waist for both men and women. For men, the fat tends to settle directly into the belly, while women accumulate more fat in the hips, thigh and buttocks. With all of this built up fat, how are you supposed to go about waist trimming?
While there are some very effective procedures and devices to eliminating fat around the waist. Laser-like lipo machines for one can help with waist trimming. However, here is a list of four exercises you can do to reduce the amount of fat in your waist and trim yourself down.
Vertical Hip Lifts – This waist trimming move requires you to get on your back with your arms at your sides touching the floor. Then you simply lift your legs without moving your back or your arms. This exercise does take a bit of flexibility and endurance. However, if you master this move, your waist trimming efforts will be off to a good start.
Ski Twists – While doing regular jumping jacks burns fat and helps you slim down, ski twists are a new take on the monotonous jumping jack workout and will help streamline your waist trimming efforts. This exercise involves you jumping in the air as you would with a regular jumping jack, but instead of bringing your arms together over your head, you keep your legs together and twist your waist like a skier. This exercise is not only great for waist trimming enthusiasts, but cardio lovers as well.
Burpees – For those of you that are not familiar with burpees, they may be the best total body workout for those looking for waist trimming or working out your entire body. For burpees, first you start out in the plank position (same as if you are about to do a pushup). Then you push yourself into a standing position while fluidly executing a small jump. Finally, you come back down into a tuck position with your knees bent. From here, start over again at the beginning. Do these every day and you will be in shape and have the waist trimming exercise you need to look your best.
Use Your Own Body Weight – This final one is not necessarily a single exercise, in fact it is a series of exercises. However, it is fast and effective for waist trimming and it is easy to do as every exercise requires only one thing: You! These exercises include pushups, air squats, planks and jumping jacks. If you can do these exercises for 20 minutes per day, three days per week, you will see amazing results in your overall fitness and waist trimming.
